Ferdinando Nazzaro

Conductor

Composer and conductor Ferdinando Nazzaro has performed with numerous major orchestras: Orchestra Sinfonica di Bari, Orchestra Regionale del Lazio, Mediterranean Orchestra, Budapest Philharmonic Orchestra, Czech National Symphony Orchestra, Lviv Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra Khmenlitskji. He has a wide reportoire with an emphasis on contemporary music and opera.

He pursued his studies at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, where he now holds the chair as professor of Harmony, Counterpoint, Fugue and Composition. His educational endeavours extend internationally, and include an appointment as visiting professor of Conducting and Composition at Ivan Franko University in Lviv (Ukraine), and master classes in composition held at Columbia College in Chicago (USA).

As a composer he has produced a large body of work for chamber ensembles, orchestra, ballet and opera which have been performed in Italy and abroad. Much of his work is published by Casa Musicale Sonzogno of Milan. He is also the founder and artistic director of KLK New Music which organizes international competitions, master classes, events, concerts and recordings of new works in association with the Lviv Philharmonic Society.

With Aion Techni Ferdinando Nazzaro conducted the premiere recordings of La dama di Shalott / Leggenda N.2 / Invocazione ad Iside.
