Zsófia Staszny

Soprano

Hungarian soprano Zsófia Staszny pursued her vocal studies first at the Zoltán Kodály Hungarian Choir School, subsequently winning a scholarship to continue her studies at the Szent István Király Conservatory. She then continued to the Liszt Academy where she studied with such teachers as Júlia Pászthy and Gábor Alszászy.
Zsófia is currently pursuing doctoral studies at the Liszt Academy, and is also a member of the Bel Canto Opera Company. Perfomances have included roles in such works as Mozart's The Magic Flute and Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore.

Amongst Zsófia's achievements in competetions some of the most notable are:

  • Second place in the National Singing Competition (2009)
  • First place in the Los Angeles International Liszt Competition (2014)
  • Special prize in the IX. Simándy József International Singing Competition (2016)
  • First place in the Danubia Talents international Music Competition in the Chamber Music category (2018)


With Aion Techni Zsófia Staszny is the soprano soloist in the premiere recording of Amo e non posso non amarvi per soprano ed orchestra by composer Giacomo Cataldo.
